Responsibilities:
Answer and process emergency calls, dispatching appropriate fire and security resources via multiple radio channels with moderate to high radio traffic.
Provide approved Pre-Arrival Instructions per internal policies and Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) protocols.
Monitor, track, and communicate real-time updates across teams and systems.
Make required notifications and ensure timely communication to internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate within a high-performing team environment, supporting one another in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.
Contribute to the development and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and participate in ongoing training.
Maintain current Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certification (EMD training provided in-house if not currently held).
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
1+ years of experience in a multitasking, team-based work environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Willingness to work variable shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent military/public safety experience.
1+ years of experience as an emergency dispatcher at a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) or in a related emergency response role.
Proven ability to remain calm, accurate, and professional in high-stress situations.
Experience receiving and incorporating feedback and constructive criticism.
Skilled at accurately documenting information in a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system while simultaneously handling multiple communication sources.
Demonstrated professionalism and courtesy during all interactions—by phone, radio, or in person.
