Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Information System Security Officer in support of an emerging opportunity related to Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) and Electromagnetic Battle Management (EMBM) located in Annapolis, Maryland, and Fort Meade, MD. The ideal candidate will be a cross-functional team player, willing to take on challenges, who collaborates with internal and external teams, and is driven to provide solutions to internal and external customers.

This position is contingent upon program award.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave and identify where those systems and networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy
  • Establish strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and supports obtaining certification and accreditation of systems.  Includes support of process, analysis, coordination, security certification test, security documentation, as well as investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, emerging technology research inspections and periodic audits
  • Assist in the implementation of the required government policy, make recommendations on process tailoring, participate in and document process activities.  Perform analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards
  • Support the formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results and preparation of required reports.
  • Document the results of Certification and Accreditation activities and technical or coordination activity and prepare the system Security Plans and update the Plan of Actions and Milestones POA&M
  • Provide support to the government customer ISSM with maintaining the appropriate cybersecurity posture on required systems and networks
  • Coordinate all associated Assessment and Authorization activities, which includes all RMF Body Of Evidence (BOE) documentation: System Security Plan (SSP), Security Controls Traceability Matrix (SCTM), Control Family Security Operating Plans (SOPs), Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) Plan, Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M), etc.
  • Monitor and maintain program Cybersecurity information in System/Network Approval Process (SNAP), SIPRNet Global Information Grid Interconnection Approval Process System, DoD Information Technology Portfolio Repository (DITPR), and Mission and Application Portfolio System (MAPS) or other designated authoritative systems
  • Evaluate newly released IAVM, DISA Tasking Order, DISA STIGs and / or Security Requirements Guide to determine the applicability with respect to the analytics
  • Generate and prepare necessary artifacts to support Cybersecurity milestone decisions, governance/control boards, and system accreditation requirements.  This includes a Cybersecurity score card, FISMA report, Cybersecurity control validation, CMRS Risk Status Report, ACAS, relevant Cybersecurity scan reports, and Security Impact Assessments. These activities support compliance with DISA, or NGA related tasking pertaining to RMF/IA

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years’ experience; or Master’s degree and 6 years’ experience
  • US Citizenship
  • Current ISSM Intermediate certification (e.g. Security+) in accordance with DoDI 8140 or able to obtain within six months of hire
  • Experience updating authoritative authorization systems (e.g., Xacta)
  • Experience implementing and overseeing a software code assurance program based on industry-based practices
  • Previous experience overseeing a cybersecurity program with specific tasks including vulnerability assessments, IAVA reporting, and IA problem resolution
  • Current U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance (adjudicated within the last 5 years), with ability to obtain a Top Secret /SCI (w/ Polygraph) security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations, or equivalent role
  • Experience with Xacta
  • Active Top Secret /SCI (w/ Polygraph) security clearance (or SCI eligible)
  • Prior experience leading a team of cybersecurity personnel
  • Working knowledge of ACAS or NESSUS, SCAP, DISA STIGs
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF)
Salary Range: $144,200 - $216,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
