The On-Site Technical Representative will be the face of WestJet and represent our best interests at our MRO locations. Role can based out of Calgary, Toronto, Vancouver, Kelowna, Halifax.
Job Description:
- Be the primary contact for all matters pertaining to the aircraft in Check for decisions pertaining to the accomplishment of the work being performed.
- Responsible for monitoring the quality of work being conducted on site by maintenance personnel including mentoring and coaching as required.
- Liaise with the Planning Department to ensure defect reports and/or non-routine task cards part requirements have been addressed and parts issues are resolved.
- Attend maintenance provider(s) daily status meetings, resolve provider/WestJet issues, and ensure aircraft completion date will not be impacted.
- Assess and approve maintenance provider(s) generated Non-Routines, including request for increased time bids, compliance with WestJet’s Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM) and Check Package.
- Responsible to ensure company safety standards are always followed.
- Ensure aircraft departs from scheduled maintenance activity with all agreed upon and scheduled/planned work accomplished
- Review and approve the maintenance provider(s) final billing reports for actual material and labor costs incurred during the scheduled maintenance activity for accuracy
- Accountable for budget performance per assigned event.
- Responsible to manage outsourced maintenance activities as assigned by the Manager, Heavy Maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Currently hold a valid Transport Canada M license.
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ of heavy maintenance / MRO experience is required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance of transport category aircraft.
- Previous experience as a Technical Representative is considered an asset.
- Must hold a 737 endorsement and/or ACA.
- 787 and/or Q400 endorsements are an asset but not required.
- Must hold an Industry Canada Radio (Aeronautical) Certificate.
- Display adequate knowledge of industry practices and understanding of the responsibilities associated with this position.
- Proven ability to coach and lead employees.
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills.
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Must be able to travel extensively and work shift hours, as this hybrid role requires supporting WestJet during heavy maintenance visits at various MRO locations.
