The Global Technical Solutions (GTS) organization is responsible for the creation and distribution of technical publications related to the wide array of products and services offered by Collins Aerospace. We are looking to hire an Editor to conduct detailed editorial reviews and process technical documentation source files to produce a finalized deliverable that meets customer requirements.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

What YOU will do:

• Conduct thorough editorial reviews of standard technical publications to ensure clarity, grammatical accuracy, formatting consistency, and professional tone.
• Compose and prepare documents using a variety of tools to facilitate reviews and ensure readiness for final delivery.
• Responsible for the final compilation, formatting, and production of technical publications.
• Verifies all documentation is properly export spaned and compliant with Collins Global Trade standards
• Provides support to the GTS Training team in folder/file configuration management.
• Coordinates with GTS Tools Support team on issues throughout the development process.
• Coordinates with Tech Docs Quality team to identify trends and develop strategies to reduce QA findings.
• Assist distribution team on troubleshooting publication visibility issues.

Qualifications you must have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and lees than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience producing electronic technical data is preferred.
• Literacy in structured authoring (SGML, XML) environment is preferred (ATA task numbering; typical DTDs/schema, elements and attributes).
• Experience with using and/or producing operator, intermediate, or depot level maintenance technical documentation.
• Experience using technical writing tools such as: MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker, ArborText, and/or S1000D Publication tool(s).
• Experience developing technical publications in accordance with industry standards such as: ATA iSpec 2200, S1000D, and Military specifications.
• Experience developing technical publications utilizing Simplified Technical English (STE) in accordance with ASD-STE100.
