Tasks
Engine Type Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing individual maintenance strategies for one or more engine types, minimizing shop visits costs, life cycle management and corresponding engine phase-ins/phase-outs. Engine Type Engineer is also responsible for:
- Controlling and monitoring shop visits performed by the MRO service provider
- Defining the maintenance scope, parts exchange approval and monitoring the MRO KPIs
- Managing engineering and optimizing maintenance processes, materials, tools and systems
- Ensuring the availability and on-time delivery of the engines, cost optimization of engine maintenance and managing interfaces to internal departments
- Determining the maintenance strategy
- Evaluating the technical condition of engines
- Retirement planning and optimization of the Lufthansa Group in the dimensions: minimal shop visits / minimal downtime during retirement / minimal costs per EFC/EFH
- Determining the required number of spare engines and assigning AOG spare engines
- Coordinating the phase-out planning with the Lufthansa Group airlines

Requirements
- Technical degree from a university / technical college
- At least 3+ years of relevant professional experience
- Understanding of MRO industry preferred
- Very good English, German language is an advantage
- Technical knowledge of engines is an advantage
- High analytical and conceptual skills
- Able to guide and train other employees
- Computer skills: SAP, Microsoft Office suite. AMOS, Flydocs preferred
- Independence and flexibility
- Ability to think abstractly
- Open to take new challenges and tasks
- Adaptability to work in a team and work under pressure
